Final scientific meeting in Oviedo06.07.11

COASA organized a fruitful meeting in Oviedo. The team discussed latest scientific achievments and the finacoasal organisational issues were planned. BIOSURF is now well prepared for the final stage of its journey and all partners are now working on the last milestone reports and the final report.

BIOSURF won the 3rd place in this year's Houska prize awards29.04.11

The Dr. Wolfgang Houska Prize of the B & C Privatstiftung is one of Austria’s most prestigious research awards. With an overall prize money of € 230000 the B & C Privatstiftung is also one of the biggest private Austrian research promoters.

In the name of ICTM and BIOSURF, Nadja Noormofidi, Eva Bradacs, Elmar Ratschmann, Franz Stelzer and Christian Slugovc received yesterday evening the 3rd prize in the Houska prize award ceremony in Vienna’s Museumsquartier. ICTM received in total 35000 € prize money for the institute’s research on biocidal polymers represented by the BIOSURF project. ICTM is deeply committed to all students involved in this project and to all scientists of the institute and the Graz University of Technology as well as of the Polymer Competence Center Leoben and all the scientific partners within the BIOSURF project who considerably contributed to this research endeavour.

The award is a milestone for the technology developed whithin BIOSURF and will certainly drive the project into a new dimension. We therefore cordially thank the B & C Privatstiftung for the award and the public awareness ICTM and BIOSURF received because of this.

BIOSURF is nominated for the Houska Prize08.04.11

 

Nadja Noormofidi submitted the BIOSURF project on behalf of ICTM and Ke Kelit. Recently, it has been announced that the submission is nominated for the Houska Prize, meaning that the first hurdle was taken successfully. Now it remains suspenseful until April 28th 2011 in the evening. At this date the winner will be presented in the framework of a formal reception in Vienna’s Museumsquartier.

Change of Coordinator01.03.11

Christian Slugovc, assisted from Julia Kienberger takes over the scientific coordination from Nadja Noormofidi. Christian Slugovc is Associate Professor at ICTM (Graz University of Technology) and was the supervisor of the PhD thesis of Dr. Nadja Noormofidi. More information about C.S. can be retrieved here. The administrative coordination remains in the hands of Mag. Eva Bradacs.

Dr. Noormofidi is now working with AT&S and is in charge of the intellectual properties issues of one of the global players in the conducting circuit board business. We wish her all the best for her further career.
